Paint Psychedelic Impressionism with Joe Mallory
A 3 day painting course August 15-17, 2025
Complete a full painting guided by Joe Mallory from 12-6pm each day in The Vision Sanctuary art studio.
You will be painting your own unique painting using realism and impressionist techniques with guidance from Joe. Option to bring reference photos of a place you would like to capture, follow along with Joe on a redwood landscape adventure, or simply create your own painting as you go!
During this course, you’ll learn lessons about the creative process, color and brush techniques, creating texture, perspective, patterns, image transferring, personal style expression, and more!
Materials Included, suggestion to bring your favorite acrylic colors and brushes.

313 Cedar Street, Santa Cruz
Parking is metered on Cedar street, in front of the gallery. Parking on Maple & Center street is free for a 2 hour limit on Fridays, then free with no limits on Saturday and Sunday. Please don’t park in the Bagelry parking lot!
We are downtown, within walking distance of many restaurants and small bites to eat. There is a community kitchen in the studio where you are welcome to cook food. We have a convection oven/ toaster oven, microwave, hot plate, mini fridge, and coffee & tea are always available.
If you are coming from out of town and need hospitality, please consider staying at the Santa Cruz Hostel! It is walking distance from our downtown studio, the beach, and we are happy to offer work trade (painting murals) for any artists that need financial assistance (and mural art on their resume). Reach out to us if this is something you’d like to pursue.
